Day Two: Busy Fun

I have a motto right now: I will not be afraid.

Today, it served me well. We started with a trip to the toddler gym near our house. I was not afraid. Will did great! Emma did great! I put her in the Ergo and even nursed her while he played. It was fine.

We went for a walk with a good friend. I was not afraid. Again, I packed the Ergo. Going into two kids, I highly recommend some sort of baby carrier that you feel comfortable with. It makes a world of difference. But it turns out that we didn't need the Ergo. Emma slept like a dream during the walk.

We ended the day with a trip to the local park that has a Splash Pad. I was not afraid. Once again, the Ergo was my friend. But I also went with a friend, her daughter, new baby, and husband. He was key in helping me manage Will while I nursed Emma. When all else fails, call in the reinforcements.

M brought take out Japanese food home which is one of Will's very favorites. They snuggled on the couch and watched a little t.v. afterwards while I nursed Emma and now we are all looking forward to bedtime.

Day two wasn't perfect, but it felt comfortable. I am not getting overconfident. I know that life will throw me some curve balls soon. But so far, I am thankful for what have been good days. I am not afraid (okay, maybe still a little afraid, but trying to get over it).

That Splash Pad is awesome. So proud of you for getting out there! It's nervewracking, but essential for your survival.

What kind of Japanese food does Will eat? The hibachi? I wish my kids were more into that.

Great job Mama! I am impressed. I didn't get out w/ two in public by myself for almost 3 months (granted, it was December when #2 was born, so there wasn't much to get out to...) I agree about the baby carrier! Do you like your Ergo? I've heard great things about it!

Glad to hear you're all doing well - getting out is key to flexibility & sanity!
How is M doing back at work?

You are doing great. For me a big difference between #1 and #2 is that I couldn't just hide away in the house all day with two kids. And yeah, having a good carrier is so important when you have a baby and toddler. I have even put Jillian in my Ergo and pushed Hayden in the stroller.

Have you been getting the "OMG I can't believe you're out so early?!" comments? I get them all the time still and Annabelle is six weeks old tomorrow. I guess some people think we should stay in and never come out. Couldn't imagine not going out and making my oldest suffer at home.

So good for you. I think it gets easier. I mean if it's gone well so far, I think it will continue to do so.
