Kind of Worried

So, it started last night.

A feeling of heaviness in my abdomen and some dull cramps. I have a lower backache, too, .

I did exercise this weekend, but only twice. And not strenuously. Seriously.

No bleeding, spotting, or anything of that nature.

Of course, I Googled. It said cramps are normal . . .unless accompanied by sudden lower backache and a feeling of pressure in the lower abdomen. I kind of feel as if I have both of those things. . . but is this just Cyberchondria rearing it's ugly head? I guess I could call my OB, but I am trying so hard to be a normal pregnant lady. I think part of it might be that this is the first week that we have no reassurance, no ultrasound, no heartbeat, that all is well. I have to learn to deal with this lack of assurance. Or drive my poor doctor crazy - not to mention my husband, my girlfriends, my blogging audience!

Why oh why did I let my husband talk me out of a doppler?!?!

If it worries you, speak with your OB, if only for your piece of mind,

Agreed - that is what they are there for. It is better to pester the ob and have it be nothing. Peace of mind is just as important to your physical health and well-being.

You will probably start feeling more and more aches and pains - the second trimester brings a lot of growth.

Hugs.

I felt that - called hte Ob nurse and she reminded me of round ligament pains! It is weird when your lower ab's in that down there region start feeling heavy. I have noticed a huge heavines differenve at like 14 weeks, 18 weeks and 23 weeks thus far. Saying a prayer for your nerves

I am telling you. Doppler. Now. Seriously!!!
If I think back, I had some backaches around the time you're at, and headaches. Now I dont have either...
Id call your doc just in case, for peace of mind. Then order a doppler asap:)

I agree with Jo. If it's concerning you, call your doctor. With your history, it's worth being overly cautious.

I hope you go to the OB. Its way better to have people think you're a nut than to find out later something was wrong.

I agree with the others - always call your OB if you're worried. You may be afraid of being a pain in the hiney, but so what? It's worth it if it'll help calm your nerves.

I am praying for you, Katie. I am sure you are fine, but there is never any reason to not call your doctor-that's what they are there for. Reassurance!! :)

Plus, we're not normal and these aren't normal pregnancies. I don't think we get the its-nothing-to-worry-about pass.

I'm with the crowd...call the doc. That's what they're there for. I'm praying that all is well!

Go ahead and call your doc. It can't hurt, right? I don't know about the doppler thing though. I'm the one who wouldn't be able to find the HB for some reason or another and then completely freak out even though there was nothing wrong.

I think you should feel free to call your Doctor everyday if you're worried. That's what they are there for! I hope everything is fine, but to be safe, give your OB a call. I wish I had a doppler, too! :-)
