Snow and Glass of Whine

It's snowing!

I love snow and living in Seattle means that I just don't get enough of it! We have about an inch gracing our front lawn right now. I know that really isn't SNOW for most of you, but we take what precious little we can get in this Pacific Northwest climate of ours. I am just glad that the "storm" is supposed to be over long before Friday, as traffic really piles up in the presence of even so much as a flake. People just don't know how to drive in snow around here, and it could make getting to my suppression check a little dicey.

Everything is still going well with the shots. I have only one small complaint. I really would love a glass of wine.

I am not a drinker. I had my first drink on my 21st birthday and never really got into drinking. I don't care much for hard liquor and am most definitively a light weight. One glass of a good wine is something that I can savor all night. But there is something about a glass of wine that I just miss. I have tried the alcohol free versions - they taste like pee water. I have tried sparkling ciders - much better, but still not the same. I drink my caffeine free rootbeer and cranberry juice out of wine glasses to create the feel, but there is no replacing the taste of a fruity reisling or a rich cabernet. There is also the fact that the minute I cannot have something, I want it, and I want it bad.

But it is all a small price to pay for the chance to have a baby. So, picture me, toasting you, with a wine glass filled with a beautiful vintage 2% milk.

Ohhhhh snow. I *heart* snow. I hope it's headed my way! :)

Me and wine do not so much get along ('nother story for another day), but I will promise that I will find my way to a beer later this week and I will drink it wholeheartedly for you!

tell me about it. I alway crave wine at all the right times. Have you tried welch red grape juice. The taste does evoke some winey memories - not much but some

I really don't understand why you can't have one glass of wine at this stage?

My doctor told me everything was okay "in moderation" and that "good wine is good for me." I'm not sure what that means, but I do know that RE's vary quite drastically on the whole issue. Mine said, "as long as you aren't drinking half a bottle of scotch every night, I'm not worried about it."

I've got you covered on the wine quota. You probably don't want to hear that, though.

Was your RE explicit about no wine?

I'm with Tracy - one glass of wine should be fine.

My RE had the same reaction to alcohol - moderation, moderation, moderation. If I wanted a beer (I really can't stand wine hah), I had a beer. Not 6 or 7, but 1.

You got snow??? Obviously I failed to watch the news yesterday because I never saw so much as one flake. I'd like a big storm (well big by Seattle standards) so I'd have an excuse to work from home.

Yay for snow! I used to live near Chicago and I miss the snow- until I take a trip back in the winter and my nose freezes off! But, cozy in my bed I miss it. :)

Really? Your RE says no wine?

That's like, MY REWARD for being not pregnant. The ONE THING I can lord over all the preggos at work - I get to drink wine.

But I love wine. Wine is my hobby. Seriously, we have a "collection."

(I don't even know how I turned into one of those people that says things like that. I just really like wine.)

You are a stronger person than I. I never give up the drinking til the day I test positive. Life's too short....and the 2ww is too long to not. But now I am quite the expert on non-alchoholic beers - that's been my replacement for now.

Good for you that you have such great self-control!
