I was a champ with my second Lupron injection last night. I remembered to go fast, release the pinched skin, and I didn't even wince. No bruising so far.
I have been a little nauseous today, however. I honestly don't know if this is related to the Lupron, because not too many people talk about that side effect. I haven't had any of the infamous headaches yet, but I am sure I am not out of the woods!
I actually wanted to vent about something other than infertility! Shocking, I know, since I am pretty much an "All Infertility Channel: 24/7."
Awhile back, my sister got engaged. I posted that while I was happy for her, her wedding was a bit of a sore spot with my family, since no one was being invited. She and my mom don't get along very well, and she thought it was just easier to leave family out altogether. A combination of her future inlaws being pretty hurt as well as several people telling her that they thought it was "weird" that no family was being invited, caused her to change her mind.
Last Thursday, she invited a group of select people (family and close friends) through a group e-mail. To say the least, the e-mail was worded poorly. Here are some exerpts:
On Oct. 24, 2008 we plan on having a sunset wedding bare-foot on the beach. This is the place where my inner bridzilla comes out. I am asking for all guest come dressed in sunset colors, oranges, reds, blues... you get the idea. I am asking for J, and T, if you plan to attend to be my bridesmaids. Ladies I am asking that you wear "sunset pink" as I call it. After I hear from you I will give you more details.
First off, this is where her inner bridezilla comes out? Secondly, you will notice that I am not listed as a potential bridesmaid. J is her soon-to-be-sister-in-law who, to my knowledge, has never even met my sister.
My favorite:
Following Oct 24, our wedding night we are asking for people to respect our honeymoon time. Wonderful friends of ours have given us a week in their timeshare in Maui. We know how large this island is, but we would like to ask you, if you plan to stay longer, to avoid this island. There are many other islands to choose from, and we need our time and space for romance and being a newly wed couple. We do hope that you understand.
Understand? Understand that you are kicking us off the island as soon as you are married?
I am pretty hurt about a lot of this. She was my maid of honor and I can't even have a spot in a "sunset pink" dress?
Is it the Lupron, girls, or is my sister a candidate for "Bridezilla of the Year?"

Her requests are odd to say the least! And an e-mail invite is kinda... odd. For sure. I hope she doesn't drive you too crazy!
Ohhh wow...Im giggling over here...that definitely qualifies as bridezilla behavior! Hope it works out for the best--for ALL involved!
It is definitely not the Lupron.
I do not think any of that has to do with lupron what-so-ever
it's definitely a bridezilla moment not a lupron moment
It ain't the lupron!!

No, your sister has lost her mind. With all that, it'd be easier for her to just stick to the no family thing.
I think this is my first comment to you but I have been lurking and couldn't keep my mouth shut on this one....OMG! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! What planet is she from?????
I could use lots of dirty words but I am keeping it clean since I don't really "know you" but I am sure you can use yoru imagination.
Eeee, no it's not you, she's definitely being a bridezilla!! First of all, what is "sunset pink"?? And even though you're not a bridesmaid, shouldn't she ask her bridesmaids more personally and NOT on a group email? Maui is a HUGE island, and who cares if she see's someone she knows? I can understand her not wanting to be next door to family for the "honeymoon" phase, but if she has a timeshare, then this shouldn't be a problem.
She's being a diva - and I'm with polka dot, it might just be easier to stick to the no family thing. Sorry this sucks though!!
No way, it is not the drugs. Your sister is a bonafide nut. You don't invite people to Maui for your wedding (which is a good enough size island not to run in to the same people every day, by the way) and then flat out kick them off the day after. What the hell? That is so rude!!! Bridezilla is only the half of it.
Just think, though, by that time you may be in your third trimester and unable to travel anyways. >:)
My fingers are crossed for that!
Bridezilla of the Year...totally. She is being incredibly rude and selfish.
It's definitely not the Lupron!
Oh, please. Maui is big enough that you're really not going to hunt them down on their honeymoon! Give it a break, sister!
She is the epitome of Bridezilla.
Good luck finding "sunset pink"! XOXO
Definitely not the Lupron. I mean hello? She acknowledges herself to be bridezilla...so why doesn't she stop herself? Brides do not get to mandate guest clothing choices and ban people from an entire island. WTF???
It is NOT the freakin' Lupron.
I am all about respecting a bride and groom's wishes, but this just seems over the top. She shouldn't invite people at all if she doesn't want them there.
I wouldn't even go. But that's just me.
And EMAIL? Seriously????
I'm sorry, I just laughed out loud... if the island is so big, can't you all SHARE it? That's essentially the same as saying, 'I know Texas is a big state, but we plan to get busy right away, so please leave the state immediately'. It's not the Lupron. My sister lives on Oahu and she's equally insane (I totally commiserate with you), we should get them together. I wonder if she'd let her on the island since she's such a fan of people she's never met... lol.
That is truly the tackiest wedding invitation I have ever seen. I do not think the term Bridezilla does her justice.
~teehee~ "this island isn't big enough for the both of us". Sounds like she's willing to duel if she even SEES someone she knows on her honeymoon.
I'm sorry she didn't offer you the bridesmaid job. And it probably would be more work than it's worth, seeing how all of this was in her first email about it, but I still know it hurts not to be asked. ~hugs~
Man, when I got married, we asked everyone to not bother us in the honeymoon suite. I didn't know I could kick them all out of the state!!!
Wow - this is truly show-stopping.
Invite via email, mandated dress code and firm departure orders?
The best part is that she wants everyone to leave the island. Never mind that her guests have spent time and money time to get to Maui in the first place - now she wants them to go somewhere else as well?
Is she planning on paying for that? Or maybe she's trying her best to discourage attendance from the get-go?
That's the ultimate in rude, bad and terrible behavior.
She's not a Bridezilla, she's just really inconsiderate.
I'm sorry that it's turning out this way Katie...But if you end up going let me know - we'll make sure that your trip is amazing.
(PS - Is sunset pink the same as pepto pink? Did I just say that?)
Umm, that seems so made up. Who would request such idiotic things? You cant be on Maui? Like youre really going to run into her? She sounds like she's missing a few brain cells, definitely not intelligent like her sis.
oh yes...justified anger for sure. The part about leaving the island after the wedding kills me. Like you all want to stay around and stalk them or something. So sorry about this...and so sorry it's almost a year away and you have 11 more months of being annoyed about this and the more requests that are bound to come.
Bridezilla of the Year? Most Definitely.
That's plain rude and insensitive.
Some women just lose the run of themselves when it comes to getting married.
Personally, I would not be wasting the time, effort and money to attend.
What kind of drugs is she on? Wow! I feel so badly for you!! :( Hugs hun!
Ijust thought I"d let you know I've tagged you, maybe not the best time.
Anyways, I'm really sorry your sister is so off in left field! :(
WOW. I don't know what else to say at the moment. That is just...WOW. I'm surprised people are actually going to this wedding. I don't think it's the Lupron...
If you go wear something that clashes violently with her dress code. That would be awesome for you and awful for her. Heh, heh.
Voting for the bridezilla on this one! Geeeez!
My normally quite reasonable sister was a total utter bridzilla bitch when she got married.
I deeply regretted being a bridesmaid (if it's any consolation) because I wanted to throttle the crap outta her by the end of the day.
xx

She gets my vote for Bridezilla! And I'd be so tempted to stay as close to her as possible during her lovely honeymoon! Hahaha!
Sounds like a true bridezilla. You should call the show so that they can feature her on it.
It is still a long time to go until October 24, 2008, so maybe she is gonna change her mind about some things...
I can absolutely understand that you must be hurting by not being on the bridesmaid short list!!! Big hugs!!!
I wish, for your sake, I could say it was the Lupron. Alas, no medicine in the world could make you hallucinate that kind of behavior. She's a zilla of the Grade A sort. Best of luck to you as you wade through the happy nuptuals.
