Checking It Twice

So, today was a busy day. In between light contractions that never get any closer together, we managed to get a lot accomplished from our "nice to get done" list.

My husband cleared out the last corner of the garage and we bought a great, frost free, stand up freezer. I am sooooo excited! People have been offering to make meals for us, and I've been wanting to stock up as well, but our little kitchen freezer is stuffed to the rafters already. It needs 24 hours to sit upright and then another six to be food-ready, but that means that I can start using my nesting instinct to make double batches of things and put aside some dinners.

We also took back a lot of gifts to two different stores. People were so generous, but a lot of our guests didn't scan things in when they purchased them off of the registry. We had three Bop.pys, four travel beds, so many clothes that I have no place to put them all, and well, you get the idea. We exhanged those things for our stroller, which I am in love with, and a baby monitor, which my husband is in love with! It has all of the bells and whistles!

I also got some breastfeeding supplies to go with my new pump that should arrive tomorrow or Tuesday. We got more diapers, wipes, bathing stuff, and a little lingerie bag for washing tiny socks and hats.

Things still on my list:
  • Neighbor still to organize the closet for me (yay!)
  • Buy extra changing table cover
  • Make some food for freezing
  • Organizing closets in the house (especially downstairs)
  • Make a "baby drawer" in the kitchen
  • Carpets cleaned (Thursday)
  • Finish last few shower thank you notes
  • Buy a couple of nursing tank tops (any suggestion on these would be great)
  • Rest??????
I think it's safe to say that I. Am. Nesting.

Bravado has really nice nursing tanks...but they are about $50. Target has good ones too that are around $15. I think I've actually worn my target one more :)

It is so close. How exciting!!

I've been wanting a garage freezer too. I think we'll get one in a month or two so that I can stock up on meals as well.

Katie,
Have you heard about the store called Birth & Beyond? It's on Madison street, near 1st hill in Seattle. It supposedly has some great nursing tanks, that just pull down, not the clippy kind. I've been meaning to go over there and check it out, but haven't gone myself yet. Friends love it though! Might be a good place to check out! Good luck as you get ready! It's gone by so quickly!

Hi Katie! Just wanted you to know that I am here (back from vacation)and reading/listening. I am so happy that you are in the home strech and will be holding your baby boy in your arms in no time. One of my closest friends IRL is due around the same time as you. I spent a lot of time w/ her today and often think of you when I am with her, since you have both been so supportive and you are both due soon. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck w/ your list!

P.S. When I was pregnant w/ Sean I stopped working when I was about 36-37 weeks. I had been measuring 1-2 weeks ahead the whole pregnancy and knew some many friends and family that had "gone early," that I was convinced that I would too and since I knew I was going to be a SAHM, I wanted to transition well at work before I left and feel prepared at home. Well, I ended up be induced a week past my due date and thus spent 5 weeks at home "preparing" for our baby boy! All I can say is that I made nesting an art form and our house was never so organized! I know you are going to go that much longer, but thought you might get a chuckle!
