Hello, Old Friend

I think my morning sickness is coming back.

When I transitioned out of the first trimester and into the second, my morning sickness turned into night sickness. I was fine during the day and could eat breakfast and lunch like a champ, but come late afternoon and evening, I was feeling icky.

For the most part, that went away by the 16th week, although from time to time, I have still had moments of nausea and even some vomiting if I eat too much too fast. Then, last week, I noticed that I was starting to feel gross in the afternoon and evening again.

The past two days, it's been undeniable. I just feel awful in the evenings. I am not too worried about it, because I eat like a pig during the day, so I know Little Man is getting what he needs. But I still thought it was crazy that "morning" sickness would return.

Anyone else had/having/heard of this?

I started vomiting in the 2nd trimester, when I hadn't ever before -- and figured out that it was from my vitamins, especially on an empty stomach. Any chance that could be part of your issue?

Hope it ends soon!

I've never had morning sickness, just evening sickness. In fact, I just got back home now after almost throwing up in my car.

I think you'll probably find other women out there that have been in your situation. That wasn't my personal experience exactly, but I did have a short time during the beginnings of the second trimester when I felt as bad if not worse than I did during the first.

I found if I was tired or didn't drink enough water during the day I would get sick. Waiting too long between meals or taking my prenatal vitamin would trigger off nausea often as well as being overheated.

Hopefully it will be shortlived! I vomited straight through from the first trimester and midway through the second. I got a six week reprieve and then started up again the last six weeks. That is why I called my firstborn a nine month eating disorder. My other pgs didn't ever get that bad again thank heavens!

Good wishes!

I'm not quite in the third tri yet, but have been feeling awful in the evenings/nights as well, mainly for the past few days. I've taken to spending my evenings lying on the couch and going to bed really early just so that I can wake up feeling better. I hope it eases up soon for you!

Oh yuck! I'm clueless on this, I'm afraid as I've been quite lucky in terms of morning sickness *knock on wood*. I hope it does not prove to be long-lasting for you. I'd hate for there to be more grocery store incidents, even if it made for a hilarious story.

I hope the sickness gets better soon.

As a side note, I want to thank you for sharing your story (a long time ago) about what happened in the produce department. As a result, I carried grocery bags in my car, coat pocket, purse and many other places just so I would always have a receptacle close by just in case. I know you didn't think that story could help anybody but it helped me be prepared for the worst case scenario. So thanks, many months later.

My sister got it back in the third trimester...she thinks it was because her belly was so big, it pushed on her stomach, which caused reflux. I think eating small meals more frequently and avoiding strong, spicy foods helped her.

I'm sorry... :(

It happened to me during the end. Feeling icky at night, especially when trying to go to sleep! Just keep thinking, "He's worth it, he's worth it, he's worth it!"

I had morning sickness that subsided for maybe 8 weeks in my 2nd trimester but then when I hit 29 weeks it came back worse than ever and lasted til I delivered at 35 weeks. It got to the point I was so hungry that I'd eat knowing that I was going to throw up afterwards. I was admitted to L&D several times for a couple hours at a time for IV Zofran and fluids and had an rx for meds at home when it wasn't so bad.

Hoping it is going to ease up for you- keeping my fingers crossed!

My SIL had trouble with morning sickness pretty much throughout her entire pregnancy. It wasn't consistent though. Sometimes she would feel fine, and then it would just come back. Hopefully that won't be the case for you, but her baby is just fine, so that hasn't been a problem.

Me! I've started to feel sick again with the 3rd trimester. It's lovely because I don't quite know when its going to come on. Lovely stuff.
