What do you get when you add the following?
1 weekend of emptying the nursery
+
1 full day standing on my feet at a national sales convention
=
Sore hips, sore back, swollen feet
My massage of last week was wonderful, but the lovely relaxation that I felt afterward is long gone. I honestly think that I should have saved it for later on this week, but then again, what shape would I be in by now?
I know that hip pain is to be expected with pregnancy, but I am a little concerned by how much my hips hurt. Just getting up from a chair causes such stabbing pains that I can't help but whimper. I don't think that I am a total whimp, this just really hurts. It's almost comical until I start to worry about what the next 12 weeks (or so) will bring.
Since this post is about math, let's stop for just a moment, shall we? There is one more very important calculation to note here: I am in the third trimester. Two-thirds of my pregnancy is behind me and "only" one-third remains. Can you even believe it? I can't. Not really.
I guess this is why, in some perverse fashion, I am glad for the aches and pains of pregnancy. Even though it is getting semi-ridiculous how I am hobbling around like an 80-year-old, it is still a reminder that my body is doing what it should and that this baby is growing as he should. For that, I am so thankful.

Welcome to the third trimester :)
My OB mentioned today that he'd probaby deliver as early as 34 weeks for 'maternal symptoms'- i.e. the complete inability to sit, stand, walk, roll over, or MOVE thanks to my uppity uterus.
But that would mean BABIES in only a month and holy cow I am so not ready.
Funny, huh?

Wow, welcome to the last bit of your pregnancy :) Feels like just yesterday that I was reading your good news... Time sure flies!
I'm sorry your hips hurt so much! However, I know what you mean about being happy about the pain. I started doing the pg waddle a while ago and whenever I pass a window and see myself it makes me smile...
In the pro-active vein: are there some stretches/exercises you can do to help relieve your hip pain?
Congrats on making it to the third trimester!
Wow. The third trimester. Unreal. Congrats!
I'm sorry it has brought with it so much pain and discomfort. Have you asked your doctor whether there's anything you can do to alleviate it? I have lost some of my faith in doctors' abilities to resolve problems of late, but it may still be worth asking.
So close... I am so excited for you, Katie.
*hugs*
Okay, I love all of your bedding choices so I can't pick. Any would be gorgeous! We just put up our crib and I'm so happy. It is starting to look like we might actually put a baby in there eventually!
My hubby likes to lovingly remind me that my waddling is due to spreading hips. It is an adjustment but yes, our bodies are doing what they are supposed to for once. And that in itself is comforting. XOXO
That sounds so very familiar right now! Break out the heating pad. Like this instant. It has worked wonders for me. And I've found that the elastic waist bands of maternity pants are great for holding the heating pad in place. Added bonus.
I'm sorry you're hobbling around like an old lady! Have you thought of seeing a chiropractor? My husband treats a lot of pregnant women, pre & post-birth, and most of them swear by it. Just like a pregnancy massage, chiropractors do things slightly differently when a woman is pregnant, so no worries :o)
Hey, at least you're not one of those moms that I see on message boards all the time... "I'm 32 weeks pregnant and I hurt so bad! How can I induce labor on my own?"
That makes me SO MAD!!! Glad you're welcoming the aches and pains and enjoying the ENTIRE pregnancy!!!
Congrats on your third trimester, that is such good news to hear!
It really seems just like yesterday you did the IVF...wow!
I cant wait to meet this little guy!
WOW! Two-thirds done already!? Great news hun!
One third left... Something so exciting about hitting that last trimester. Congratulations. :)
