Sludge

That describes both how I feel and what the spotting looks like today.

I continue to feel awful, which most people would consider a good sign. I was this sick, if not sicker, with Gummy Bear, and we all know how that turned out. However, I do think it's a good sign most of the time.

The spotting was red and pink yesterday, but has slowed to a brownish sludge that really only shows up when I look for it. That is good news, I think, although I would feel better if it would just go away altogether.

I still have so much to do before Christmas. We celebrate with M's family this weekend and I finally have everything purchased, but nothing wrapped. I will probably just do gift bags, as that is decidedly easier and I have a bunch already. They are the "already been used for six Christmases" variety, so wrinkled and faded, but they will do. It's the thought that counts, right?

Thank you for the comments and advice. I really appreciate it all.

You're being environmentally conscious by re-using bags. :)

Sludge is VERY good sign. The maternal-fetal specialist I saw (for my gazillion u/s's), after my pretty moderate bleeding in weeks 5,6, and 7, said that "brown is okay - it means it's old blood, not new stuff - scary but not dangerous". My husband used to text message me that very thing about 3 times a day when we were so scared about it!

Praying that the bleeding will all turn out to be nothing.

oh hon I can't imagine how worried and scared you are. But like everyone keeps saying - I've always heard brown is ok.

Agree with Ms. J. Brown is VERY good. It's old blood...and was a sign that my own bleeding was coming to an end. You probably had a very small SCH (subchorionichematoma - see why I abbreviated?) and it's worked itself out. Remember, I had a SEPARATED placenta that was 4cm at one point, and it STILL ended up okay, so try to stay positive. The continued morning sickness is another great sign, though I know it's making you miserable.

BIG hugs.

Arrrrgh, how scary that must be. It's hard enough being on "panties patrol" your whole reproductive life looking for signs, but while pregnant it's especially tough. Hang in there, lady! I will be thinking of you...

Oh sweetie. You sound so overwhelmed. ((hugs)) You're all in our thoughts and we're hoping for the best for you.

You don't need to feel bad about a thing. M can eat frozen pizza, wash his boxers, and put the gifts in bags, and I bet he won't mind a bit.

Sludge is good. I suffered a loss between my two daughters. This pregnancy I started bleeding at week 12. Expecting the worst on the ultrasound, they actually found no reason for the bleeding and I'm 23 weeks along now. I had myself convinced that it was all over, but somehow, we've been allowed this miracle. I'm praying for you and your baby.

I'm glad to hear that it's only been sludgey today! That is definitely a good sign.
Thinking of you.

I don't remember the last time I bought bags. Yes, they get recycled every year. name tags go on top of name tags for as many years as the bags allow.

I think you need to just take a break and not push yourself. Let someone else take charge for a while.

Everyone is right, brown is good because it's old blood. And it's normal to have some bleeding in early pregnancy, but its scary as hell when it happens. Continued prayers for you.

I re-use bags as well. If they aren't ripped they are used! Better for the environment and everyone I know does the same thing.

Sorry to hear about the spotting! I hope it disappears and is nothing serious.

I had that scary bleeding with L weeks 7-10 of pregnancy and I remember feeling every day like it was all about to end. I am so sorry, it is SO hard to have your hopes up and yet feel them dashed at the same time... especially in YOUR shoes. You've been there and you know what CAN happen.
I am praying for what WILL happen (like that play on words?) with this baby and I hope you feel much, much better.

*hugs*
