But all of a sudden when he turned 17 months old, he started sleeping a six hour stretch most nights. It. Is. Heaven. He'd been decreasing in height percentiles ever since he was born, but once he started sleeping that stretch he grew three inches in a month and rocketed up the chart. Growth hormone is released during sleep -- surprise!

We still have problems getting him to fall asleep before midnight though. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6490746375774981338.post-91398051337104082512013-01-21T13:40:05.897-08:002013-01-21T13:40:05.897-08:00I've been meaning to comment for a couple of d...I've been meaning to comment for a couple of days but can't comment from my phone or iPad for some reason.

If you've read my last two entries (http://itiswhatitisorisit.net/?p=3970 and http://itiswhatitisorisit.net/?p=3960), you know that I've been struggling. Not so much with sleep (as we did with our #1 son) but with constant eating (which is somewhat tied to sleep as there is seemingly less of it).

I am so glad to know that you are on the other side and look forward to getting to that place where things click, too.

He'll be 4 weeks on Wednesday, so it is early days, still. It Is What It Ishttp://itiswhatitisorisit.net/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6490746375774981338.post-91213278099413540412013-01-20T23:23:26.556-08:002013-01-20T23:23:26.556-08:00AMEN! Our children are unique individuals. I love ...AMEN! Our children are unique individuals. I love your wording - "...don't bend to our ideals." We all envision being the mommy who rocks baby to sleep at 7pm, enjoys a quiet evening reading next to the hubby, tidying up our tidy little home before tucking ourselves into bed and waking in the morning like a ray of sunshine to make all these homemade goodies and never raising our voices because our children are just the most well-behaved little angels you ever did see.............. yeah right. Maybe some people pull that off but I certainly don't!

Good for you. Ditch the mommy guilt, friends. Take it one day (and night) at a time! Don't beat yourselves up!!!Joy@WDDCHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03709113785857792361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6490746375774981338.post-34985793158659750632013-01-20T17:33:43.813-08:002013-01-20T17:33:43.813-08:00I am a huge believer in Babies Are Going to Sleep ...I am a huge believer in Babies Are Going to Sleep How They Are Going to Sleep and there isn't much you can do about it. My only hope is that this baby sleeps...My four year old still doesn't sleep so I am counting on this one. But, as you have said, each is so different. So, whatever it is will be okay! I am glad that you are so happy!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
